Preparations are in full swing…

In just a few days, I will board a plane to Tanzania.

It is a sentence I have imagined countless times over the past one and a half years. After months of planning, preparing, learning, building partnerships, and navigating challenges, this moment is finally becoming reality.

For the first time since SERAFRICA was founded, our team will come together on the ground. At the same time, I will finally return to Nathan’s Maasai community — a place that has left a lasting mark on my heart and played a significant role in shaping the vision behind SERAFRICA.

What lies ahead is more than a visit. Together with the community, we will begin planning and launching the first projects that have been discussed, refined, and prepared for so long. Ideas that once existed only on paper will soon take their first real steps toward implementation.

As the departure date approaches, I can feel my excitement growing every day.
I have traveled to several African countries before, many times on my own as a solo traveler. Yet this journey feels completely different. This isn‘t a vacation. It isn‘t simply another trip. It is a life-changing decision that comes with responsibility, commitment, and purpose.

For as long as I can remember, I have carried a deep desire to contribute to something meaningful beyond myself. To build connections, create opportunities, and work alongside communities in a way that respects their knowledge, strengths, and aspirations. Today, I’m living what was once only a dream.

Of course, alongside the excitement come many practical questions:
What do you pack for an entire year in Tanzania and Ghana?
Where will I sleep?
How do I store food without a refrigerator?
Which medications should I bring for such a long stay?
What unexpected challenges will arise along the way?
These questions often occupy my mind as departure day draws closer.

In many ways, this journey feels like stepping into the unknown. There are things I can’t fully prepare for and experiences I can‘t predict.
But whenever uncertainty appears, I remind myself of everything that has brought me to this point. The countless hours of work behind the scenes. The planning sessions. The difficult decisions. The people who believed in this vision. The support, encouragement, and trust that have made this journey possible.

SERAFRICA was never built overnight. It was built through persistence, patience, and a belief that meaningful change begins with genuine partnership and human connection.
And now, the next chapter is about to begin.

I don’t know exactly what the coming months will look like. I know there will be challenges, unexpected lessons, and moments that push me outside my comfort zone.
But I also know this: It will be worth it!
